Drone development
Description
The project consists of the design and development of a drone using low cost materials, with a payload capacity of .5kg plus including telemetry and waypoint to waypoint navigation.
My contribution
Material and stress testing
Worked on the design and material durability to create a drone that is lightweight yet strong to be able to withstand falls during test. The materials that were used involves the use of carbon fiber tubes that are normally used in Olympic arrows, a ceramic composite as the main base (normally found on PCB boards, the rest of the parts were 3D printed. Structure itself cost less than 20 dlls
Weight distribution
Since the Drone must be as balanced as possible the placement of the battery and components was aligned using Inventor to make sure that the center of gravity was in the center.
